1) extra character slot as we all know
2) direct song
3) extra storage place
4) "make your own guild hall" - a simple package, which will let users customerize their guild hall such as if they want to have mix-up of warriors isle and rangers isle so on..
5) concept art weapons/armors (customerized per characters only, so market wont get hammered)
6) "Make your own Body/Face" and "Make your own armor"
some things are kinda impossible and i know im asking too much
but hey worth a shot

what i want to see
*skill pins
*coffee cups
*char shammen slippers
*char slots
*no mini pets
*direct song stuff (grats goes to david soule the guy is a genious)
*no coke weapons(coke equals the evil in my book)
and other bits of promoition tat that i am a sucker for.
come on who doesn't want a t-shirt with "were was the infuse"? on it.
in short i don't want the main idea of this game to change to,
"its not how much time you put in, its not how much skill you have, its about how much you have still got left on your credit card.

I just remembered more things I would like to buy (thanks to reading all of the suggestions )
Change characters names.
Customized minipets of ones already in game. You could buy it and then do a /minipet *inser minipet's name* and then it apears on that character, in the exact same way that you use the pre-order items. That way, since they are minipets that are already out, you can't complain that other players have a minipet that you can't get, but you also don't have to wait forever waiting for you characters birthday to get one or buy them at their rediculously high price for in-game money, AND it won't mess up the economy (at least not in anyways I can think of).
For the collectors edtion add-ons, it would cost like $5 to $10 more to buy it than it would if you just bought it from the store as just the collectors edition. That way, there would be insentive to just buy the collectors edition in the first place. Also, there are still collectors edtions being sold on the web, so why not just have Arena Net make profit off people still wanting collectors edition. I'm all for helping GW keep making profits and stay alive!
Even if you decide to not allow us to upgrade to collectors editions unless we pay other sources, at least allow us to buy cool things like kunavange and the back up dancers! I would pay money for those!
Oh, that reminds me, how about back up dancers for all classes, and possibly being able to change your characters' dance? (not sure if I'd like the changing my characters dance, but I know other people would)
Wait, what was the other thing I was thinking of??? Noooooo, I forgot!!! Oh well...
P.S. Please don't make "mini-expansions". I would rather see those included in another chapter. Even if it is for another chapter, other than the one that is comes with, please just put it in the chapter instead of a mini-expansion. That also give people more insentive to buy more chapters. Or better yet, just include it in an update for free!
And please, never, ever, sell anything in the GW store that can be sold for in-game money. If you sell weapons in the store, make them like teh pre-order weapons so they are customized, but accesible to all characters. Do the same with any armors or minipets or anything else that can be sold for in-game money. (this is assuming you will have weapons, armors, and minipets in the game, which I hope you only have minipets and pre-order weapons from other places....armor should be something that is earned, enspecially cool looking armor). And gold is also a big no-no. If you sold gold in the store it would ruin the economy of the game and thus ruin my chances of getting cool "vanity" stuff and other cool extra things (which is currently the main reason why I'm playing now, at least untill nightfall comes out), therefore making me not want to play. It might even make me not want to buy any more new chapters if it gets too out of hand...

This is just crazy and has to be stopped now!! People want more storage so much that they even want to pay for that! Ridiculous! It was to be added in game long time ago and by making us wait so long for it
Additional ingame storage should be bought for ingame currency - gold
The store should be limited to slots only (that would be the best and most healthy for the game)
Please DON'T sell ::
*storage space - instead sell that for ingame gold
*ANY items / armor that a character can use, no matter if its tradable or not
*just ANY items would suck, even minipets or event items or even graphic effects like emotes/divine aura!!
*unlock packages, faction balthazar - that would also be total nonsense
*Anything that players have to work for in game, like currency, skills, skill points, exp, faction, etc.
*Anything that has a coolness factor to it - we have enough coolness for $$ with the Collector's Editions available
*Any game content or feature upgrades like auction house, character appearance changing like hairstylist... - these should be added to the game but that's what next Campagins are for!
Selling slots is ok but there has to be a fine line or it may ruin the game
So please don't be greedy and just make the incoming Campagins the best possible, so they will sell well. Make everyone really want to buy them.
And everyone remember: It will turn into a downward spiral if we dont stop it now! More and more purchasable content and less and less free updates. If people would buy various stuff anet will spend more and more time/resources into making more things to sell in the store instead of free updates, features, events...
EDIT::
I got an idea! You can sell cheaper campagins for pvp only players (price 20-30$),
these would require one full campagin
for example PvP only GW:Factions expansion would enable :
-Assassins and Ritualists professions for PvP chars
-unlocking Factions-specific skills and items at priest of Balthazar
-maybe entering Alliance battles from Guild Halls
all pve content like the whole continent would remain blocked obviously
I'm sure lots and lots PvP-only players would love that!

If we're not going for reall world stuff, I would pay untold ammounts of money, for more faces, more races, both human and non human. We worked with Tengu, I would pay $10 each for Tengu, Naga, Charr, Luxon, Kurzick, Mugumma and Krytan. More faces is that too much to ask and to little to pay for?

Only thing I'd like to pay for is more Xunlai Storage. At least one of the toons I'm buying will be strictly for a mule.
And no, nothing that can be traded in-game should be sold for cash. We've had enough problems with that already, no?

hi gaile,
i wouldnt support any item which would disrupt balance of the game, obviously.
there are some things that i would support:
- the most important to me, an in game auction. i hate spam, and gw is full of it, i think an auction house in high lvl cities in each campaign would be a great start. though, i doubt many would acually buy it with real world cash, cause they couyld just keep spamming. would also work as a gold sink.
-close second imo would be a bank where you could store gold to gather interest. i think ppl would pay money for this upgrade. xunlai bank agent?
-close third, expanded storage, with the ability to fill bags before you put them in storage, and everything still be there when you retrieve bag, of course. i think every serious gw player would buy this the same week you put it out, a big boom to profits here.
-i think i would buy character options, like being able to change hair color at char select.
-in game/char select skins was a really good idea
well thats all i can think of atm ty for listening.

I am greatly confused, the title doesnt tell me at all sorry Gaile. Many members posts further confuse me.
Am I paying real world money for ingame GW items? Or am I paying GW money for GW ingame items?
If it is real world money for GW ingame items then I must say I object. Can you tell me how that is different from buying accounts off ebay or buying gw money off the net for real money? I oppose real world cash buying me ingame items.
Im not very warm to the idea of character slots either, Im in Australia and I bought Factions 3 times, one normal, because I didnt want to lose my character since my local store told me it'd be a HUGE delay to get my CE. and a CE, and a CE for my second account. So I got factions twice for one account and theres no benefit there. You know I've used keys on my account you can tell, when and what was added. How about a bonus for adding more keys to one account instead of selling char slots normally. I dont have a CC.
That aside I love GW and think ANET generally does a fair and fine job.
Now if you are talking about INGAME cash for INGAME money, like stuff you'd buy from a merchant.
-Rune of belt holding. bags can get runes, why not the belt, it would give us a tincy bit more storage.
-Jewllery (sp) This would be cosmetic though Gaile, and serve only to look nice. Nothing on it to unbalance the game. Let us buy necklaces. ear-rings, belly button rings, nose rings? How many of you guy warrior would wear a bull nose ring? ;p lol
-varied types of alchol varying in strength
-local maps (you buy it like a present, upon double clicking it, it reveals on your world map the area you bought the map from, but this area would be shaded black and white, so you can see the basic terrain there, but you HAVE NOT explored it. This means you cant buy the title explorer, but you can buy parts of the map to see roughly whats around. Its not a big deal, so if its hard to do meh forget it, i just was thinking aloud.
-unique town item (1 per character) you buy a key or totem or something and you go to an NPC in the town and buy a unique green, the stats and look would differ to other towns.
So I'm wielding a Cavalon sword, or an Aspenwood bow. Same as the amulet of the mists, 1 per character, but these ones you'd buy...maybe with faction? 10k faction for 1?
P.S I love you Gaile, you do an awesome job and I can only imagine how hard it is to stay positive when you get alot of ppl complaining.

TYVM Lady Lozza. In that case I'd be upset, I dont own a credit card so I feel I'm going to miss out. I liked the idea of no monthly fees, I liked the idea of buy the game thats it. If its please pay for extra content then Im not happy. I dont mind about char slots though.

Seissor, what this thread is about is what you would be willing to pay for (RL money) such as the character slots Anet is going to be offering "soon".
Gaile has already stated that certain things are "no-go", I think most of them can be summed up as "tradable items". Also CE bonuses will not be sold.

I'd pay 50 bucks if ANet finally do something against the WTS/WTB spam in the public chat channel.
I'd pay 20 bucks if ANet fix the bug that makes my GW crash with a critical error at least once per hour lately.
I'd pay 10 bucks for 500.000 gold. It's just too damn expensive at Ebay.
I'd pay 1 buck for a gold max dmg 15^50 fellblade.
I'd pay 50 cents for a new pet for my ranger: A cow (which I can milk).
/sarcasm
Seriously, this has got to be the turning point of the Guild Wars business model. From here it's all downhill.
The fact that there is no monthly fee was the #1 reason why I started to play GW, not WoW or EQ like all my online buddies. I still admire ArenaNet/NCsoft for their courage to offer such a great MMO game without monthly fee, and I salute them for the success. Every dollar that they made with the 2 million GW copies sold is well deserved, and I hope for them that they sell at least another million with Nightfall and every future campaign! But now it looks like they get greedy. They force you to pay real money to get access to game features that should really be free.
- Only those who own Faction have access to the material storage.
- PvE players who don't maintain a PvP character slot have to buy a new slot in order to be able to participate in the Nightfall preview event.
- Only those who own Nightfall will have access to auction houses and other nice new features.
- Only those who pay for it at the GW Store will have access to the <put name of new feature here>.
What's next? Pay real money for bugfixes???

Unique Mini-pets. - These would have to be customized to the account, of course. Otherwise, Mini-Gwen ftw.
Pre-order Items. - Unlike the CE goodies, these things were essentially free, since they were included into the price of the final purchase. I was only able to do this for the Factions pre-order, so I assume it was the same for Prophecies.
Binky's Spelling Adventures - Just a fun mini-game thing to help people improve their spelling and grammar. <.<;
Insider Subscriptions - Get exclusive sneak peeks for upcoming campaigns. WTB Dervish info.
Pet armor. - No just kidding!
Pet storage/Stable - You know, I miss my spider and bear. Right now my oversized turkey is getting loud and annoying.
I think that other storage options, such as Dye and Holiday Items, should be purchased in-game, for no more than 50 gold, just like the Materials storage.

Nothing was said about CE packages at all, only that the items (presumably ingame and not-ingame) were not going to be sold.

As storage is obviously an issue that puts extra load on the Anet Servers, I'd pay for extra storage. Specifically, an armour 'wardrobe' that extends off character inventories. A key ring would be something I'd pay for too.
In game items...no.. wouldn't pay for those. Kiss of death if that became an option.
Another thing I'd pay for is to have those dwellings in the Guild Hall actually usuable.. with some storage of their own... Real life money to pay for the extra art and programming needed to construct them and ingame money to buy them.
I really think Anet should think seriously about at least some level of merchandising. I know it would be a PITA to implement as you'd have to have people taking orders, packing, dispatching and support but Guild Wars has such a huge player base now that T-shirts, mugs etc would imo do well. A simple survey in the game store would identify the items players really want.
